My interest in GABAergic neurons was sparked working as an undergraduate intern in Chiye Aoki’s lab downtown. There I completed my undergraduate thesis, and the research experience and wonderful mentorship motivated me to switch from pre-med to pre-MD/PhD. I graduated from NYU in 2014 with a B.S. in Neural Science. Fast forward a few years, and I’m now beginning the PhD portion of NYU’s MSTP program in the Basu lab. I’m continuing to investigate properties of interneurons in the hippocampus using two-photon imaging (under new wonderful mentorship!).
Outside of lab, I love exploring the city (mostly for new, good food) and getting involved with advocating for diversity and inclusion at NYUSoM.
